Aberporth Beach Steps - Estyn Y Mor Cottage

Aberporth beach is the main attraction of Aberporth, and it pulls in visitors from around the world who are looking for a beautiful but slightly quieter coastal holiday. Aberporth beach is made up of two beaches – Dyffryn Beach (Big Beach) and Dolwen Beach (Little Beach), they are separated by a small headland that hosts the beach car parks, toilets and shower block. During high tide they are separate beaches but at mid to low tide the beaches connect to form one large glorious shoreline. Both beaches in Aberporth offer soft golden sand and each feature their own rivers – Howni & Gilwen. Estyn Y Mor is situated just up the slipway from Dyffryn beach and just to the side of the river Howni.

Aberporth beach is in a very sheltered cove and offers one of the safest bathing areas in Cardigan Bay. It’s really popular with swimmers and surfers all year around, and during spring and summer it’s popular for all water sports – Paddle boarding, rowing, kayaking, windsurfing, water skiing, snorkelling, rock jumping, fishing and more. During the summer months the beach is patrolled by the RNLI Lifeguards, they monitor a dedicated area for bathers between their flags – check their daily sea conditions and weather updates for Aberporth beach here.
